Aims and scope

History Journal of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University was established in 1996 by decree of Scientific Council of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Aims of the Journal The main aim of the publication is to promote the development of historical science and education by publishing high-quality results of fundamental and applied research. The journal serves as a platform for academic discussion, the exchange of best practices, and the integration of Ukrainian historical science into the global scientific and informational space.

Scope and Subject Areas The journal publishes original scientific articles, source studies and historiographical reviews, as well as professional reviews of monographs and scientific works by domestic and foreign authors.

Cluster of the professional scientific publication: Humanities and Arts. Specialty: B9 History and Archaeology.

Priority research areas include (but are not limited to):

  • History of Ukraine (from ancient times to the present);

  • World history;

  • Political, social, and economic history;

  • Archaeology, ethnology, and social anthropology;

  • Regional history, local history, and research of historical and cultural heritage.

Language Policy The journal supports linguistic diversity in science and publishes articles in Ukrainian and English.

Target Audience The publication is intended for a wide range of professionals: researchers, higher education teaching staff, academic degree candidates, archaeologists, museum workers, librarians, as well as all researchers interested in current trends and innovations in the field of historical science.
